The Vancouver Corporate Soccer League started as a series of friendly games between various companies in the lower mainland. Slowly more teams entered the league and the numbers of games increased. This year we welcome Absolute back so there are 8 teams participating in the league with roughly 50 games scheduled. Teams are organized by team captains from each company and draw their players mostly from employees, although friends and family are welcome to play as well. The fact that the league exists is greatly in part to the time and effort of Barry Owen. Barry has spent countless hours over the past years organizing fields, building schedules and making everything happen. Many thanks to Barry for all his hard work.
The gameplay in the league is meant to be recreational yet semi-competitive. Many of the teams are co-ed and are meant to be accessible to anyone at work who wants to play. That said, games are energetic, competitive and fun.
The league itself is non-profit. The only money that changes hands is to cover the cost of the fields. All the remaining work by the team and league organizers is voluntary and is done out of a passion for the game. If you are interested in getting a company team together, volunteering or perhaps want to donate to keep the league running send a message via the contact page or email teams@vcsl.ca.
