Registration for the 2020 season is currently open and we're looking for new teams to join the VCSL this coming season. If you're a returning team to the VCSL you should have seen a registration email requesting confirmation you'll join again for 2020 as well as a request for your updated roster sheet before November 15th. If you're a new team looking to join the VCSL, please reach out to teams@vcsl.ca. We'd like new teams to be registered with a roster sheet submitted by end of November at the latest so let us know soon. |
Season Kick-off This Friday
The weather looks great for season kick-off tomorrow with all teams on the pitch. Welcome back to Absolute Software after a single year hiatus. Good luck and good game to all teams tomorrow. Keys will be required to unlock the nets and turn on the lights at Burnaby Central Secondary. If you don't have a key, look for Simon at the field tomorrow or email the VCSL admin. Don't forget to bring nets to Burnaby Central All captains, you must pay the referees directly as in years past. The fee is the same as last year so please be prepared with cash. You'll also need to provide the referee with your team list. VCSL admin will send the template around tomorrow so watch for an email. Have fun |
Schedule & Calendar
In case any of you are subscribing to the iCal for the season calendar, it's been updated up to the end of June to reflect the schedule. This way you can get the handy alerts on your mobile. The schedule is now back on the schedule tab just below the calendar. More updates and improvements to come. |
2018 Season Underway - Standings Updated
We're 2 weeks into the 2018 season. I hope everyone has enjoyed their first couple games of the season so far. A huge shout out to Steve Cullingworth and Simon Drexl for helping Barry and I get this season underway. A big welcome to BCGEU as the league newcomer this season! I've done a quick update on the website to reflect the current teams and the latest standings. I'm looking for other team volunteers to help with some of the regular season maintenance of the website as well. If you have an hour a week to help me keep goal scorer and card info up to date, please let me know. I'd also like to do some updates to the Teams pages so if you have team photos or info about your team you'd like to share, send that info along. Enjoy the season everyone, Tyler |
Captains Meeting for 2017 Season
Hey Team Captains, We'd like to have a captains meeting the week following season kick-off. Someone should represent each team at the meeting. This will be to clarify rules for the season, overlap with the refs and make sure we're all on the same page. Watch your emails for an invite. |
2017 Season Approaching
Hey VCSL Teams, Looks like the snow should be finally done which means it's time for some VCSL summer soccer! We have 11 teams registered again this year and we're ready to kick off next week. First game up is Orbis vs Schneider on Wednesday with the remaining teams playing Friday. We'll have a week off because of the Easter long weekend and then we're back at it again for the season. We're still completing the final schedule for the rest of the season so keep an eye out on the Schedule tab for the rest of the schedule. You can also add the VCSL calendar to your favourite app using the ical link: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/ical/vcsl.ca_koahgvcbialco68fcj4hq1oku4%40group.calendar.google.com/public/basic.ics Keys for nets and lights should be the same as last year. If you don't have a key, contact one of the VCSL organizers to get you one. Hope everyone is fit and ready to play. See you on the pitch. |
2015 Season Kicks Off!
Spring is upon us and the 2015 VCSL season has officially kicked off. It was a bit of a rainy first day for the season openers but it sounds like there were a couple good games. This year we'd like to welcome City of Vancouver to the league. CoV played a couple friendly games last year and decided to join the league. We're glad to have you on board. Also new this year, IBM2 is back. Nice to see big blue fielding a couple teams again this year. Sadly this season both Pacific Blue Cross and Fortinet have pulled out of the league. You will be missed, but there were some great previous seasons. That brings us back to 10 teams again. This season the schedule is packed with 17 league games apiece with a couple friendlies sprinkled in for fun. Should make for lots of energetic and competitive soccer. We're still on the lookout for any teams that want to join the league for next season, or would like to have a kick around friendly with one of the VCSL teams. With the action packed schedule this year, it will be tough to fit in friendlies, but if you are interested email teams@vcsl.ca or send a message on the contact form. |
Joining for 2015
A reminder to all teams. If you will be joining again for the 2015 season, you need to send your roster to Tyler or Barry before November 30th. If you are a new team interested in joining, send a message to the contacts page and we'll get back to you ASAP. |
VCSL 2014 Tournament
Here we go again. The 2nd annual VCSL tournament kicks off 10am this Saturday (Aug 23rd) at Burnaby Lake Sports Complex. The schedule has been released and has 8 of the regular VCSL teams along with our friends from the Caribbean Allstars vying for the 2014 VCSL championship. For tournament details see the http://vcsl.ca/tournament page. See you all there! |
2014 Season Starts This Week!!
Hey teams, hope you all managed to stay fit over the winter and are prepared for the 2014 season to start this Friday. So far the weather looks a little wet. Fingers crossed it will get better by Friday. A reminder if you are playing at Burnaby North and Burnaby Central fields, you will need to buy yourself a net as the fields don't supply nets. A good bet is to pick one up at Soccer Express in Coquitlam. You can get a SX branded net for around $80.If you are the captain for your team, take a look at the rules and regs page to familiarize yourself with the rules. You will be responsible for your team so make sure you know what the rules are. |
